6. Make a Travel Schedule The best way to plan a vacation is to create a daily schedule. First think about the trip from your hometown to the state you chose. Will you travel there by car, airplane, train, or bus? How many days will you spend in each town or city? Create a schedule with an entry for each day of your vacation. For example, write, “Day 1: Travel by airplane from hometown to Houston, Texas; visit Johnson Space Center; Day 2: Travel by car from Houston to San Antonio; visit the Alamo,” and so on.
