2. Create Characters Create characters for your play. Include people that played an role in your community's history. You may also want a narrator for the play. Next, write a brief description of each of the characters. Explain who they were, what they did, and how they were important to your community.

3. Write the Script Use the information about your community's history to write a script for your play. First create an outline, that tells the general story, or plot, of your play. Decide on the number of scenes your play will have. Then write down what will happen in each scene.

4. Gather Props Make a list of the props -- the objects, pictures, costumes, and other items -- that you will need for your play. Then collect or make the items from your list.
