Theme Project: Write a guidebook to help people visit all the different environments and unusual places in the West.

2. Gather Facts To attract visitors to the state, your guidebook will need to describe many different aspects about the state. Use reference books and travel brochures to find out more information about the state you chose. Fill in the blanks for each section below with the information you collect. Use a separate sheet of paper for additional information

3. Write Descriptions Write a one-paragraph description for the each aspect of the state you chose. Make sure to write the descriptions in way that will make people want to visit the state.

4. Create a Map Use an outline map or trace a map of the state you chose. Make sure to label the landforms, cities, towns and sites in the state.

5. Gather Pictures Find or draw pictures of each of the different aspects of the state you chose.

6. Assemble the Guidebook Create a page for each aspect of the state you chose. Give each page a title, such as “The Geography” and “Traditions.” Then paste the descriptions and the pictures that go with them onto the pages. You may want a separate page for your map. Create a cover page for your guidebook.
