Filling in the Blanks
Before you begin this sheet, review the drawing of the Quaker abolitionist on page 323 of your textbook. Then use what you have learned about the Underground Railroad to draw a figure below. First, decide whether you will portray an escaping slave, a conductor, or one of those who lived in a station (stationmaster) on the Underground Railroad. Then use information from The Underground Railroad to finish the picture, dressing the figure and labeling each item you add. Share the results with classmates or use the sheets to make a bulletin board display.
