Which Side Are You On?

Before and during the Revolutionary War, Americans had to decide whether they were Patriots, supporters of independence for the American colonies; or Loyalists, those who remained loyal to British rule.

How did they make that decision? Think of the reasons why someone might be a Patriot, and the reasons for staying loyal to Britain. Fill in the chart below with reasons for each point of view.
