Reading the Tao Te Ching
The individual numbered sections of the Tao Te Ching are called chapters, and each addresses a separate idea. Read your chosen section carefully and use it to answer the following questions.

4. What does the chapter say the effect of a ruler who follows the Tao Te Ching will be on the people he is ruling? What is the effect of a ruler who does not follow the Tao Te Ching?
5. What does the chapter say, if anything, about the use of force or violence or war?
6. Restate the chapter's message in your own words.
