I. Benefits of Many Cultures

A. In a pluralistic culture, people borrow music, foods, clothes, language, and other things from each other.

B. People in a pluralistic society often keep ethnic customs that are special to their immigrant group.

II. Challenges of Many Cultures

B. Communication can be a challenge when people from different cultures speak so many different languages.

C. Sometimes, immigrants feel that they must leave their own customs behind when they come to America.

D. Another challenge is the problem of prejudice.
