countries of the immigrants to California. Work with them to find these
countries on a world map, and then trace the possible routes these

the challenges facing all immigrants who come to a new country such
as learning a new language, finding work, finding places to live, and

like before arriving. The second should describe the reality of living
in California as an immigrant.
- Have students make a before and after collage of an immigrant's dream
and then the reality of living in the United States.
