I. Looking at the Earth
B. A map of the world also shows the earth's lands and oceans, but a map is flat.

B. The United States is located in the middle of North America.

B. A map shows mountains on California's eastern border and CaliforniaÕs neighbor states of Nevada, Oregon, and Arizona and the country of Mexico.

B. East of the mountains is the desert.
