Framework Concept: Technology Technology and the computer industry have helped Silicon Valley to grow and have affected our lives in many ways.

Ask students where they see companies and technologies in their surroundings. Then ask them what it would be like to live in a place where the main business is making computers.

Discuss with students why new services and businesses would want to move to Silicon Valley. Have students design a poster illustrating some of these reasons.
How does technology affect students' lives? Have students list or draw ways they use technology in the course of a week. Then have them share their lists and drawings.
