Students are participating in the Invention Convention, an international invention contest held annually by Houghton Mifflin Company, publisher of Houghton Mifflin Science DiscoveryWorks, a national science program for students in Grades K-6. The intent of this contest is to encourage creativity and problem solving skills among students. Participants in the program identify a need or solve a problem by following the same steps and patent application procedures that an inventor would follow in patenting an invention.

Students in the classes of [list of names of teachers] _______________ have spent the last 6 weeks designing, building, and testing their inventions.
