Overview: Students use what they've learned about ecosystems to plan a Biosphere 2-type environment called “Eco-Lodge” that the class could live in for three months.

 
Choosing a location for the Eco-Lodge and which ecosystems to include
3 Choices are well thought-out, logical, and realistic. Reasons for choices are presented clearly and are based on unit concepts.
2 Choices are generally clear and based on unit concepts, but some parts are illogical or based on misunderstanding.
1 Choices are unclear, unrealistic, and show a lack of understanding of unit concepts. Reasons for choices are not well thought-out.
Making a drawing of the Eco-Lodge
3 Drawing is creative, carefully made, visually interesting, and reflects unit concepts.
2 Drawing is adequately made and generally reflects unit concepts, but some parts don't make sense.
1 Drawing is poorly made and uninteresting, reflecting a lack of understanding of unit concepts.
Planning food and water needs for the Eco-Lodge
3 Plans are well thought-out and realistic. Reasons for choices and amounts are presented clearly and are based on unit concepts.
2 Plans are generally clear and based on unit concepts, but some parts are illogical or based on misunderstanding.
1 Plans are unclear, unrealistic, and show a lack of understanding of unit concepts. Choices would make Eco-Lodge unsuccessful.
