Unit 6A, Earth's Energy

Unit Project: Illustrating Energy

Make a poster display that illustrates and describes the production of energy from inside Earth and from the Sun and how this energy interacts with Earth.

Project Link 1 (Chapter 1, page A15)
Prepare a poster display showing how energy from the Sun and from inside Earth is produced and how it affects Earth and living things on it. Start by finding out how the Sun's energy is produced. Then write a brief description of this process and of different ways that solar energy is changed to make it useful. Use your own drawings as well as pictures cut from magazines to illustrate your descriptions.

  • Energy Sources of the Sun and Earth

    Project Link 2 (Chapter 2, page A45)
The Sun's energy interacts with materials at Earth's surface to produce such effects as global winds, ocean currents, and violent storms. With your group, choose one or more of these effects to describe and illustrate as part of your posterboard display.
