How to Set Up Your Classroom for a Nautral Resources Exhibit

Invite your students to contribute as much as possible in setting up the classroom for a Natural Resources Exhibit. Here are some ideas.

  • Set aside a section where the display cards describing scenic places can be viewed. Have the reference books, travel folders, and maps on hand so that visitors can get more information about places that interest them.

  • Plan a way to distribute copies of the newsletter the students made about the importance of conserving local natural resources.

  • Using posters they have made, students can give presentations about their conservation plans for local natural resources.

  • Have students make a map to indicate the locations of the natural resources in your state.

  • If refreshments are served, have students brainstorm kinds of natural snacks that they might include, such as trail mix, granola, fruits, and fruit juices.

  • Check with the local library or your state Department of Tourism to see if a video that shows places of interest in the state is available. If so, provide an area for viewing the viedeo and have interested students take turns giving introductions to the viewing.
