Animals of the Rain Forest (continued)

Also found in the canopy are frogs, lizards, snakes, spiders, birds, bats, and opossums. Birds found in the canopy include harpy eagles, parrots, toucans, vultures, and hummingbirds.

On the forest floor, you could find antelope, deer, hogs, tapirs, rodents, snakes, worms, and snails. Chimpanzees and various cat species, such as the jaguar, live on the forest floor and in the trees of the understory.

Army ants, bees, butterflies, mosquitoes, moths, termites, and other insects are everywhere. In fact, insects are the most common type of animal found in the rain forest.
