Shane Templeton

Shane Templeton is Foundation Professor of Curriculum and Instruction at the University of Nevada, Reno, where he is also Program Coordinator of Literacy Studies. He is also a member of the Usage Panel of the American Heritage® Dictionary. Dr. Templeton's research focuses on developmental word knowledge. Read his current research study, co-authored with John J. Pikulski, entitled Building the Foundations of Literacy: The Importance of Vocabulary and Spelling Development.

Donald Bear

Donald Bear is director of the E.L. Cord Foundation Center for Learning and Literacy and works with children who have difficulties learning to read and write. He is a professor of curriculum and instruction at the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a co-author of Developing Literacy: An Integrated Approach to Assessment and Instruction.
