Picture Thesaurus (visual/kinesthetic) Suggest that students create a page for a picture thesaurus. Have them use a class thesaurus to find exact words for rough, or give them the words listed below, and then have them use a class dictionary to define each word. Ask students to write and illustrate sentences that convey the exact meaning of each word. Students may want to create and post pages showing exact words for other words, such as fall (topple, stumble, plunge, sprawl) or frown (pout, grimace, scowl).
