Have students use class reference books to list regional variations of bag, pail, soft drink, pancake, skillet, and tadpole. Then have them make dictionaries. On quartered sheets of paper, they will list a set of terms and illustrate them with a picture. Have students staple or tie the pieces of paper together and add a cover.
