Illustrating Meanings of order
(visual/kinesthetic)
Have students use a class dictionary to find and list multiple meanings for the noun order.
Then ask them to choose three meanings to use in sentences and illustrate in a drawing.
Suggest that students trade drawings and write additional sentences for their classmates' pictures.
order n. pl. orders 1. A condition in which everything is as it should be: Her room was in perfect order. 2. An arrangement of things one after another. 3. A condition in which rules, laws, or customs are observed: They brought law and order to the town. 4. A command or rule. 5. A request for items. 6. A portion of food in a restaurant.
