Exact-Word Waves  (visual/oral/auditory/kinesthetic) Point out that said and told have the same meaning as related. Ask small groups to brainstorm words to replace said in dialogue, using a dictionary for spelling help. Then have students display their words graphically. Tell them to create a scene of a Coast Guard ship on the ocean, write said on the ship, and write exact words for said on waves surrounding the ship. |
