Raft Race  (visual/kinesthetic) Tell pairs of students to have a raft race. Each pair will need 60 ice cream sticks or strips of tag board. Tell students to write the first syllable of a list word on one stick and the last syllable on another. To play, students place the sticks facedown. Players take turns turning over two sticks. A player who turns over a matching pair keeps the sticks and places them side by side to build a "raft." The player who ends the game with the largest raft wins. |
