Word Quilts (visual/kinesthetic) Write these base words on the board: chew, tax, read, suit, bear, wear, pay, work. Tell students to add the suffix -able to each word and list their new words. Then ask them to create a quilt design that incorporates each of the new words. Students may draw their designs on poster paper and write the new words on the design as "embroidery." |
