Blended-Word Equations
(visual/oral)

Write these "equations" on the board, and ask students to choose one to illustrate.

    clap + crash = clash
    spread + crawl = sprawl

Tell students to draw side-by-side pictures of the words that are blended. Then have them add a plus sign between the pictures. Ask students to write a question mark at the end of their written equation. Let students guess each 's blended words.
