Word Relay
(oral/auditory)

Divide the class into groups of seven or nine. Ask one student per group to be the judge and recorder; ask the other group members to form two teams. Tell the judge to read a spelling word to Team 1. The first player says the first letter of the word, the next player says the second letter, and so on until the word is spelled. The judge/recorder writes each letter on the board as it is said, for all team players to see. A correctly spelled word earns a point. Teams take turns spelling, and the team with the most points wins.
