Spelling Bees
(visual/oral/auditory/kinesthetic)
Have students work in groups of five.
Tell each to draw and cut out a bee and a flower. Ask them to label each flower with one of these spelling patterns: k, ck, c, ch, qu.
Then have students take turns as players and caller. The caller says a list word for Player 1.
To earn a point, Player 1 must spell the word correctly and land the bee on the flower bearing the correct spelling of the word's |k| or |kw| sound.
Picnic, quick, and crack are worth two points.
