Talking Clowns
(visual/oral/auditory/kinesthetic)
Ask small groups of students to make talking clowns.
Tell them to build a large clown face, pasting shapes (eyes, open mouth, ears, nose, hat, etc.) cut from colored paper onto a poster.
Then have students cut a slit at each end of the clown's mouth. Ask each student to write a sentence on a strip of cardboard, using a unit word.
Then tell students to make the clown "talk" by sliding the strips through the clown's mouth as another group reads the sentences aloud.
