Compound Word Workout (visual/kinesthetic) In your Learning Center, place blank cards cut from tagboard or colored paper and a box labeled "Compound Word Workout." Explain that children are going to exercise their minds. Have them brainstorm compound words, write one part of each compound on a card, and put the pairs of cards in the box. Children remove cards from the box and see how many compound words they can make. Partners can time their "workouts" by seeing how many words they can form in a given time period. |
