Synonym Stars (visual/kinestheticSynonym) Have children look up long i words such as bright, find, shine, and nice in their Thesaurus. Ask them to draw a night sky filled with stars. Have them write the entry words and their synonyms on the stars. Children then trade papers with a partner and see if their partner can draw lines connecting each entry word and its synonyms. Partners then choose a group of three synonyms and write sentences for the words on sentence strips. Have them cut the strips apart into word cards and reassemble them, interchanging synonyms when possible. |
