Rocky Lake
(visual/oral/auditory/kinesthetic)
Place in a Learning Center cutouts of fish, markers, and a paper bag that has been colored or painted blue. On the bag, print "Rocky Lake," underlining the letters ck and k.
Have children write on the fish rhyming words that end with the |k| sound. For example, they might write words that end with -ick, -ack, -ock, or -ike.
Children can then take turns pulling fish from the "lake," asking a partner to spell them or sorting them according to categories they determine.
