Climb the Mountain!  (visual/oral/auditory) Children can play this game with a partner or small group. Have groups draw a large mountain on construction paper. Then have them add a winding trail that leads to the top of the mountain. The trail should be divided into spaces. Children write these consonant clusters on the faces of a cube: tr, sw, st, cl, br, and gl. Players take turns rolling the cube, thinking of a word that includes the cluster, and spelling the word aloud. Players who spell correctly move three spaces on the trail. The first player to reach the top wins! |
