How Many Pigs?

Children will play a counting game.

What You Need

• Room to move around

What To Do

1. Have children line up along a wall.
2. Pick one child to help you start the game. Begin the chant:

   Penelope Pig had a party.
   She started to do a jig.
   At first everyone was very surprised.
   But one by one they joined the dance.
   Now there are this many pigs.
   One! Two!
   Two pigs dancing a jig.
   

3. As each child joins the line, dance around and repeat the rhyme. Have children count off after you say, "Now there are this many pigs." Everyone can join in on the last line.
