Numbering Noodles

Children will create patterns using different shapes of pasta noodles and write how many pieces are in their designs

What You Need

  • Pasta noodles of different shapes (bow ties, wagon wheels, spirals, rings, etc.)
  • Construction paper
  • Glue

What To Do

  1. Explain to children that they will create pictures or designs using pasta noodles of different shapes glued to construction paper. You may wish to show an example.
  2. Have children count the number of noodles they have used and write the number or make a noodle number.
  3. Distribute a supply of pasta noodles and glue to each individual, pair, or small group.
  4. Collect the completed pages and display them.
