My Color Book

Art/Science

Children will group pictures by color and create Color Books.

What You Need

  • Old magazines
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Construction paper
  • Hole punch
  • Yarn

What To Do

  1. Choose a color to be the Color of the Day. Write the color name on the board. Show children something that is that color.
  2. Work with small groups of children to find pictures of things that are the featured color. Help children cut out and paste the pictures on a page in their Color Books. Write the name of the color at the bottom of the page.
  3. Have children decorate a cover for their Color Books. As children complete each page, punch holes in it and bind it to the other pages with yarn.
