Draw Up a Solution

Art

Students will identify a problem in their community and create posters to help publicize and reduce the problem.

What You Need

  • Notepads or tape recorders to record information from community members.
  • Poster board and other art supplies.

What To Do

  1. Ask students to talk to family, friends, and neighbors about problems in their community—for example, litter, drunk driving, or vandalism.
  2. Have students create posters publicizing the problem, including ways people can help tackle it.
  3. Help students put up their posters around town, with cooperation from local merchants, libraries, and other establishments.
