Students will research and report on a place they would like to visit.

What You Need

• Access to an online map site; alternatively, an atlas and encyclopedias or other reference books that include information on various cities and countries

What To Do

1. Direct students to an online map site such as Atlapedia Online (http://www.atlapedia.com) or the map section of a reference site such as Information Please (http://www.infoplease.com/atlas), and help them locate maps and information about a place they might like to visit.
2. Ask students to draw a map of their chosen destination.
3. Have students write a brief report on their destination, describing its climate and other features and explaining why they would like to go there. Then have them share their reports with the class.
