Creepy Class Creatures

Math Activity

Children will have fun finding out which creepy crawlies are class favorites.

WHAT YOU NEED

• Paper and pencils
• Poster board
• Crayons or magic markers

WHAT TO DO
Have a small group of children ask their classmates the names of their favorite creepy crawly creatures. Then have another small group make a bar graph on poster board of their classmates' responses. Other children may want to decorate the graph with drawings of the creatures represented.

TEACHING OPTIONS
In addition to the math activity, you might want to use the bar graph poster as a starting point for a writing assignment, such as "A Day in the Life of a Spider," or for a discussion about why these creatures are favorites.
