There's a free-tailed bat that is reddish with white patches. Its Latin name is Xiphonycteris spurrelli.
There's a sub-order of edentates or diggers that armadillos belong to. This sub-order is called Xenarthrales. This name is used because these digging animals have reinforcements in the vertebrae of their backs that allow them to push more forcefully when they dig. The extra pieces in their spines are called xenarthrales. Students could use anteaters for the A name and Xenarthrales (armadillos) for the X name.
