Objectives
Participants will:
- review the Leveled Readers program, with attention to the definition of leveled reading and the importance of scaffolded instruction and flexible grouping
- gain an understanding of the characteristics of leveled books and the criteria used in leveling
- use leveled readers to develop reading fluency and provide differentiated instruction
- plan effective assessment to monitor student progress and inform instruction
- learn effective techniques to organize and manage the use of Leveled Readers in the classroom
