Knowing Mathematics Institute, Level II

Target Audience:

Experienced Knowing Mathematics coaches, coordinators, and teachers who have successfully completed the Knowing Mathematics Institute, Level I

Length of Training:

3 days

Prerequisites:

Successful completion of the Knowing Mathematics Institute, Level I, submission of an application, and one semester of verified experience using Knowing Mathematics, along with a videotape submission that shows the applicant teaching three consecutive lessons of Knowing Mathematics

Materials:

Trainer's notebook, presentation visuals, and one set of Knowing Mathematics teacher materials, levels 4–6

Description

A participant who has worked as a Knowing Mathematics teacher, coach, or site coordinator for one semester is eligible to attend a Level II institute. The Intervention Institute, Level II, prepares Level I graduates to become district trainers, so they can maximize capacity by training other teachers to use Knowing Mathematics.

Objectives

Participants will be able to conduct a Knowing Mathematics Institute, Level I in their district.
