Developed by renowned author and educational consultant Dr. J. David Cooper, this institute is designed specifically to support literacy coaches as they monitor the implementation of the scientifically research-based instruction in Houghton Mifflin Reading, which aligns with the Reading First initiative and the No Child Left Behind legislation.

Objectives

• have a fully developed concept of the literacy coach
• know and be able to implement a coaching model
• improve skills for supporting teachers as they develop their knowledge of literacy
• be able to coach literacy teachers
