Your child knows how to multiply three numbers to get a product, but what if two of those numbers are decimals?
What You Need:
- Calculator
- Pencil and paper
What You and Your Child Will Do:
After you present each one of the following problems, let your child use either a calculator or paper and a pencil to solve them.
- I am thinking of three numbers with a product of 45.
Two of the numbers are 4 and 1.5.
The other number is a decimal.
Designate the other decimal.
Answer: 7.5 - I am thinking of three numbers with a product of 12.5.
Two of the numbers are 2 and 2.5.
The other number is a decimal.
Designate the other decimal.
Answer: 2.5 - I am thinking of three numbers with a product of 90.
Two of the numbers are 2.5 and 2.5.
The other number is a decimal.
Designate the other decimal.
Answer: 14.4
