Rocks are all around us. They come in many different colors and textures. Some are shiny and some are not. Take a family member on a rock hunt. See how many different kinds of rocks you can find.

Go outside with a family member to hunt for rocks. Look for rocks that differ in color, texture, and luster. Look for rocks that appear to be made up of only one substance and rocks that appear to contain many substances. Take your rocks home.
