Warmest and Coldest

In your science class, you have been learning about sources of heat and how heat is used. The Sun is Earth's main source of heat. In this activity, you can learn about the heat energy that comes from the Sun.

Materials

• thermometer
• paper and pencil

Procedure

The temperature changes through the day. Leave a thermometer outside all day. Ask an adult to help you read the temperature in the morning, at noon, and at night. Write down the temperatures.

Results

When was the temperature warmest? When was it coldest? Why do you think this is so?
