Fly Away Butterfly
In this activity, you and your family members will use a refrigerator magnet to make a paper butterfly move! When you make the paper butterfly magnetic, the magnet will attract the butterfly. This will allow the magnet to pull the butterfly toward it.
Materials
- crayons
- white paper
- refrigerator magnet
- metal paper clip
- tape
- scissors
Procedure
Ask an adult to help you cut out a butterfly shape from white paper. Be careful with scissors. Color the butterfly. Tape the paper clip to the back of the butterfly. Draw some flowers on another sheet of paper. Let your family member hold the sheet of paper with the flowers on it. Now, place the butterfly on a flower. Hold the refrigerator magnet on the other side of the paper behind the butterfly. Try to move the butterfly from flower to flower.
