In science class, you have been learning about organisms and their adaptations. In this activity, you and your family members can learn more about adaptations by exploring animals and plants at zoos, parks, botanic gardens, and even in your own backyard!
- nature magazines or picture books
- zoo, park, botanic garden, or backyard
With an adultís help, find photographs, illustrations, or actual examples of five different plants and five different animals with interesting adaptations. Record the name of each organism in the chart and describe one or two of its adaptations.
What kinds of animal adaptations did you describe? What is the most unusual adaptation on your list? Can you think of some adaptations that humans have?
