My Mammal and Bird Chart
In science class, you have been learning about different kinds of animals. You have learned that animals can be grouped by their body parts. In this activity, you can learn more about mammals and birds.
- a large sheet of construction paper
- old magazines with animal pictures
Ask an adult to help you make a two-column chart on construction paper. Use the headings “Mammals” and “Birds”. Look through the magazines to find pictures of mammals and birds. Then cut out the pictures and glue them in the correct column. Label each picture with the animal name. Talk about how you grouped the animals.
What are some other animals that could have been put on the chart? Where would you place these animals? Why?
