Think about your shadow on a sunny day. Does it move when you move? Can you jump on it? You learned in science class how a shadow forms. Make shadows and put on a shadow show for your family.
- lightweight cardboard
- unsharpened pencils
Plan a shadow show. Decide what characters will be in your show. Draw them on cardboard. Cut them out. Tape each character to an end of a pencil. Ask a family member to shine a flashlight at a wall. Be sure the room is dark. Hold your characters in front of the light. Put on your shadow show for your family.
What did you notice about the size of the shadows? When were they small? When were they large?
