Click & the Kids
story and art by Betsy Page Brown
Image: There are five pictures in a staggered line. There is a picture of a girl named Amy, a boy named Martin, a mouse named Click, a woman named Liz, and stars.
Amy says, “Star light, star bright, first star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight. Gee, there are so many stars out I can't decide which one to wish on.”
- Have you ever gone outside at night to look at the stars?
If so, what did you see?
[anno: Answers will vary.]
- Any group of stars can form all kinds of different pictures. Make a new picture from the stars used to make the Big Dipper. On a piece of paper, draw the stars used to form the Big Dipper. Now draw a new picture using those stars. You have just made your own star picture! [anno: Students' drawings will vary. Students should use the stars from the Big Dipper.]
