Weekly Reader Connections

Teacher Guide: Lesson 11.3

The Weekly Reader Connections feature on Kids' Place Houghton Mifflin Math provides children with additional practice with the skills taught in the Curriculum Connection feature in their student books.

The “Animal Names” activity presents children with animal group names. Children are asked to compare given numbers of animals by identifying the greater of two groups. Note that there are alternative group names for three of the creatures. These appear in bold type in the table below. You may wish to share these additional names with your class.
