1. Plan It
Prepare the ingredients. Read the recipe on page 409 of your Math Central textbook, or click on the link to see the salt-dough recipe. Decide how many ornaments your group will make for the craft fair. You can make the recipe more than once.
Once you have decided how many ornaments you'll make, list the ingredients you will be using.

2. Put It Together
Calculate how much to make. Figure out how many times you will need to complete the recipe in order to make enough dough to form all the ornaments. How much of each ingredient will you need?
Use a calculator to find out how long it will take to prepare, shape, and bake the ornaments. You may wish to convert all times into minutes first.

3. Wrap It Up
Make a chart. Make a chart showing how much time all of the cooking will take. Tell the mixing time, shaping time, and baking time. Use hours and minutes for your chart.
Plan the work to be done. Use your chart to plan how you can share the work. Assign tasks that need to be completed in order to make all the ornaments.
